Making the move from Production Coordinator to Production Manager can be a daunting step, with new PMs tasked with important decision-making, minute-by-minute, 24-7 responsibilities. From recruitment, and budgeting and scheduling to overseeing multiple shooting teams, edits, and delivery; managing well and building solid relationships are all key to the role.
The need for confident, skilled PMs has been highlighted by extensive industry research by ScreenSkills and others. This course will help address this need with step-by-step comprehensive training in the key stages of a production; examining both the practical skills needed to be a successful PM, as well as professional skills such as managing a team. In addition, the course will offer training in the complex matters around insurance, legal and health and safety, both in-house and at broadcasters.
This programme is supported by the ScreenSkills Unscripted TV Skills Fund, which invests in training for the unscripted workforce thanks to contributions from BBC, Channel 4, Sky, A+E Networks UK, Discovery UK, Channel 5, Netflix, ITV, Amazon and UKTV matched by production companies.
