Red Production Company has hired its new chief from drama rival Tall Story Pictures, which has made its own senior hire in response.

Patrick Schweitzer, who has executive produced ITV dramas Grace, Redemption, Bancroft and The Bay for Tall Story, has been named chief executive of Manchester Based It’s a Sin indie Red.

He has also worked on Pulse Flms/Sister thriller Gangs of London and World Productions’ Save Me, both for Sky, as well as Kudos’ BBC dramas Ashes to Ashes, Spooks, Hustle and The Hour.

StudioCanal-owned Red has been without a full-time permanent chief executive since Sarah Doole stepped down as chief executive in May last year.

Its recent output has included Traces for Alibi, and ITV’s No Return. It is currently co-producing Amazon Prime’s Anansi Boys with Endor Productions.
