Dragonfly has signed Vice Studios’ global head of documentaries to lead its international factual business.
As executive vice-president of documentaries and unscripted, Moore effectively replaces the Banijay-owned indie’s former head of docs Tom Pullen, who joined the BBC’s factual commissioning team in November last year.
Moore will be tasked with developing a slate targeting US and international streamers.
He spent four years at Vice, overseeing commissions such as Netflix’s Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Right Now.
The producer has been cutting jobs over the past year and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June. Moore’s exit follows that of co-chief executive Hozefa Lokhandwala at the start of this year.
Vice's LA-based chief content officer Danny Gabai takes over Moore's previous role at the company.
Moore hailed Dragonfly’s “history of unlocking truly ground-breaking access and finding extraordinary characters in their filmmaking,” adding: “I’m beyond thrilled at the prospect of building on that legacy and working with this extraordinary team to grow new premium projects together.”
He reports to the indie's managing director, Richard Bond.
Ambulance producer Dragonfly’s recent slate has included Amazon Prime format Date My Mate, Sky documentary feature Forced Out and BBC2 doc series Moulin Rouge: Yes We Can-Can!.
