Disability-focused indie Born This Way Media and Lenny Henry’s Esmerelda Productions are among 13 companies picked for this year’s Indielab accelerator programme.

Running until the end of June, the scheme helps indies to fast-track their business, and features primarily diverse and regional producers.

Bursary places provided by Screen Scotland and Sony Pictures TV fund masterclasses and seminars from TV execs including Big Deal Films’ Dhanny Joshi, Left Bank’s Andy Harries and ITV’s Priya Singh.

The programme covers issues such as the commercial and creative aspects of running an indie, inclusive leadership, creating a sustainable business culture and embracing new revenue models.

Last year's 16 participating companies included Dare Pictures, Chwarel TV and Specky Productions.
