The Grierson Trust has named this year’s 12 DocLab New Entrants trainees – 11 of whom are female.
The programme, sponsored by Banijay, places people aged 18-25 at indies including Fulwell 73, Keo Films, The Garden, BBC Studios and Wall to Wall.
The cohort includes Bristol-based zoology graduate Tawana Gandiyah, who has been a runner for Plimsoll Productions and taken work experience at Silverback Films; Brighton-based Bea Montgomery-Christy, who had a three-month stint at Rumpus Media last year; and London-based Martha Slater, who has been a runner on MultiStory Media’s Tonight for ITV.
Brighton-based Ren Scott-Bridge is the only male trainee on this year's scheme.
Also on the scheme are: Lena Elghamry (London); Jessica Lees (Prenton), Lucy Lawson (Sawbridgeworth); Sara Michelangeli (Bromsgrove); Esme Ramlal (London); Alice Stewart (London); Mia Versluys (Bracknell); and Edie Wood (Worthing).
More than 180 people have undertaken various iterations of the Grierson DocLab to date.
