Songs of Praise co-producer Afanti Media, Keeping Faith indie Vox Pictures, and Chwarel, which makes the Welsh Gogglebox, are among 21 indies that have granted development funds from Creative Wales.

From a total pot of £840,000. each of the companies has received up to £35,000 to develop projects and invest in resources to grow their business.

Barn Media, which produced Gareth Bale: Living the Dream, is ploughing the fund into accessing archive and developing a sizzle to pitch a documentary about Richard Burton to broadcasters and streamers.

Other indies funding new series with the money include Carlam, Boom Cymru, Little Wander, Avalanche Productions and Helo Deer Studios.

Rondo Media, meanwhile, is investing in research and development into ways to creatively and commercially grow its business.

A further 10 specialists in games and software development will also receive grants from the fund.
