Factual entertainment producers Naked and Shine TV have both recruited new creative directors from outside their respective companies.
Former ITV factual entertainment commissioner Nicola Lloyd [pictured] has joined The Apprentice producer Naked, a role that has been vacant since predecessor Tom O’Brien was promoted to managing director last year.
At ITV, Lloyd commissioned shows such as Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip and Bradley & Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad as well as a string of single docs.
Prior to her eight years at ITV, she executive produced Twenty Twenty’s Channel 4 format First Dates.
O’Brien described Lloyd as “a stock-picker and builder of big, original and eye-catching ideas,” adding: “Naked will benefit hugely from her experience, wisdom and drive to entertain our audiences, as she works closely alongside the senior team here.”
Meanwhile, former Boundless creative director Jack Kennedy has joined in the same role at Shine TV.
Kennedy will help the Banijay company’s pivot toward large-scale entertainment and reality and succeeds Tim Whitwell, who left six months ago.
Since leaving Boundless, where he developed Channel 4’s 60 Days, Kennedy set up the TV arm of Untold Studios, the indie behind C4 shows Gregg Wallace: Britain’s Miracle Meat and Trainspotting with Francis Bourgeois.
He has also led factual formats for Lime Pictures.
