Character 7, the scripted indie behind Disney+ series Culprits and one of the producers of BBC/Amazon co-pro The Night Manager, has signed former Meta executive Anna Higgs as managing director.

Higgs, who also chairs Bafta’s film committee, previously led global entertainment partnerships for the social network and has also been a Film4 commissioning executive.

Her most recent role was at creative agency Casarotto Ramsay & Associates, where she was managing director for a year from July 2023.

Character 7 founder and executive chair Stephen Garrett, hailed Higgs’ “fabulously eclectic experience”, describing her as “a thrilling fit for our ambition to go on developing and creating groundbreaking drama and supporting our ambitions and investment in the future.”

Higgins, who first worked with Garnett 15 years ago, said she is “ready to push the boundaries of what we can achieve”.

Her appointment comes as Chapter 7 promotes executive producer Anna Higgs to creative director.

Character 7’s output also included HBO’s drama The Undoing, which starred Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant.
