ITV Studios company MultiStory Media is repositioning as a purely factual label, with chief creative officer Ana De Moraes exiting for newly-established outfit Kinetic UK.
While MultiStory has produced entertainment formats such as BBC3’s Project Icon and Netflix’s Big Flower Fight, and co-produced Channel 4’s Scared of the Dark with Possessed, it has run a dedicated documentary unit since 2022.
It will continue to produce its long-running franchises Come Dine with Me and The Pride of Britain Awards under creative director Simone Haywood.
ITVS said the shift would enable the label to expand and strengthen its focus as a leading producer of premium documentaries, current affairs, and factual programming to the UK market”.
ITVS director unscripted Angela Jain said a strategic review had identified a need to reorient MultiStory to “futureporoof the UK unscripted business to enable it to respond to the needs of the market”.
MultiStory chief executive Tim Carter will continue to run the label out of its London and Manchester offices.
The company’s factual output includes ITV stapls The Martin Lewis Money Show, Peston and Tonight as well as series such as 7 Up, Kate Garraway’s Life Stories, reality series Dubai Hustle and upcoming doc Brianna: A Mother’ Story.
De Moraes’ role is one of around 10 posts that could be made redundant as a result of the move.
She has been named creative director of Kinetic UK, an offshoot of Love is Blind and Married at First Sight producer Kinetic Content launched last month with Laura Gibson as managing director.
De Moraes joined MultiStory in 2018 and has previously worked for Shine TV, Twofour and the BBC, and spent nine years at Twenty Twenty, where she created C4 format First Dates.
