The creative minds behind Channel 4 shows Lodgers for Codgers and Grayson Perry's Big American Road Trip are to share their experiences and offer tips in a pair of Talent Manager masterclasses.
In each of the online events, which will be conducted on Zoom, the execs behind the shows will be interviewed by The Talent Manager, with opportunity for Q&A from the audience. This is followed by an opportunity to network virtually with peers in a series of breakout rooms on the video chat app.
The first features RDF West's five-part format Lodgers for Codgers, a constructed factual series that shines a light on social isolation and rising property costs by pairing young and elderly people in a house share.
Executive producers Maia Liddell and Jo Scarratt-Jones will discuss their experiences of casting and working with the two age groups, how they crewed up and the sensitivies involved in the format.
It will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday 24 September, ahead of the transmission of the final episode at 10pm.
Next week it is the turn of Swan Films creative director Neil Crombie, who has collaborated with Grayson Perry on a string of series for Channel 4, including the much-praised Grayson's Lockdown Art Club.
Crombie executive produces and directs all of Perry's shows, including his latest, Grayson Perry's Big American Road Trip. However, the third and final part of the series marks the directorial debut of Adam Simons, who produced Art Club.
The duo will discuss the challenges of making art come alive on TV, working with the unique talent that is Perry and recrafting Art Club for a second, hopefully not-locked-down series for early next year.
This masterclass will take place at 7pm on Wednesday 30 September, just ahead of the transmission of episode two of Grayson Perry's Big American Road Trip. The series launches on Wednesday 23 September, with all three episodes available on All4 immediately afterwards.
