Former Sky entertainment commissioner Bill Hobbins is to lead the unscripted output of Chalkboard TV in a newly-created role.

As creative director, Hobbins will chiefly be responsible for factual and fact ent shows but will also feed into the indie’s growing drama slate.

Chalkboard’s upcoming shows include Channel 4 format Mend it for Money [pictured] and Channel 5 drama Intruder, which comes from the newly-established sister company Clapperboard Studios.

He will also sit on the executive committee of the iZen UK group - which includes Chalkboard, Clapperboard and Scottish arm Storyboard Studios – alongside managing director Mike Benson, who also heads up Clapperboard; Storyboard co-founder Natalie Humphreys; and Chalkboard head of production Michael Klokkos.
