Pact has voted in Raise the Roof founder Jane Muirhead as its vice chair under its recently-appointed chief Hakan Kousetta.

The indie trade body said the appointment of Glasgow-based Muirhead to the two-year post would help ensure it keeps its focus on the nations and regions.

Muirhead and Kousetta, who heads up See-Saw Films, will sign off budgets, agree policies and campaigns and help Pact chief executive John McVay to support indies hit by the coronavirus pandemic.

Muirhead rejoined the Pact council in 2019 after eight years away. She co-founded Raise the Roof in 2010 with Sarah Walmsley and Location, Location, Location presenters Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer.

Muirhead’s appointment comes as Pact teams up with DiVA, a Kickstart Gateway Organisation, to jointly apply to establish six-month youth traineeships for its 670 members via the government’s Kickstart Scheme.
