Former Tinopolis indie Thunderclap Media has been transformed into a consultancy for unscripted indies to navigate the coronavirus crisis.
The company, set up former ITV commissioner and diversity manager Claire Zolkwer and previously backed by Tinopolis, will support indies in development and production, including treatments, talent-spotting, mentoring and devising formats.
Launched in 2017, Thunderclap is the indie behind BBC3 series Galdem Sugar (pictured).
Speaking to Broadcast, Zolkwer said she wanted to help indies be flexible and nimble as they move between projects as lockdowns interrupt production.
“It absolutely feels like the right thing to do in this environment,” she said. “In an industry that is being hammered, the bottom line is this is a natural progression and the best way for me to use my skills.”
Thunderclap will assist indies meet broadcasters’ targets for on and off-screen diversity.
