Drama exec Nicola Shindler has brought a string of senior staff from her former company Red Production Company to her new indie Quay Street Productions as it gears up for expansion.

Joining as head of development is Davina Earl, who held the same role at Red and previously script edited its dramas Safe and Come Home.

Richard Fee, who worked for Red for more than a decade on shows including its Harlan Coben adaptations for Netflix, joins as executive producer.

Meanwhile, Quay Street has named Athena Stavrakis as script executive. She has previously script-edited Red dramas The Stranger, Trust Me and Ordinary Lies and is currently a mentor on the ScreenSkills 2022 Mentoring Programme.

Shindler has also hired Chris Leach, an ITV Studios production executive who has worked on ITV’s The Bay, Vera and Bancroft, as head of production. Meanwhile, ITV Studios’ senior business affairs manager Kate Boyle joins as head of business affairs.

Manchester-based Quay Street recently won its first commission from ITV: Nolly, a biopic of Crossroads actor Noele Gordon written by long-time Shindler collaborator Russell T Davies and starring Helena Bonham-Carter.

Shindler set up the ITV Studios-backed scripted indie in January last year.
