Former BBC docs commissioner and DSP creative director Diene Petterle has joined Pulse Films to head up its factual output.

As creative director for global non-fiction, Petterle will oversee its development slate and delivery of docs for the domestic and international market.

The role was previously held by Nelesh Dhand, who became Netflix’s doc series manager last year.

The cross-genre indie’s factual catalogue includes Channel 4 docs including Hair Power: Me and My Afro and Inside Missguided, HBO’s recent Harry Potter reunion, Hulu true crime doc Dead Asleep and Netflix series The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

Until last year, Petterle was DSP’s creative director of factual for two years, exec-ing shows including ITV doc In Cold Blood.

Prior to that, she was at the BBC for four years, overseeing the Truth About… science strand and was the corporation’s executive producer of Danny Dyer’s edition of Wall to Wall’s Who Do You Think You Are?.
