All3Media has stepped up its inclusion efforts with the hire of its first diversity head and a series of workshops with accessibility consultancy Tilting the Lens.
As head of diversity, equity and inclusion, Annika Allen will work with the HR and talent teams within All3Media’s 40 labels, bringing experience gained in a diversity role at Barclays, including the publication of the bank’s first diversity, equity and inclusion report.
Her role will encompass external stakeholder relationships and contributions to sector-wide DE&I work.
Allen has a TV background, having started out as a junior researcher on Cactus TV’s Richard and Judy. She subsequently gained assistant producer credits on a range of factual entertainment programmes, including All3Media label shows such as Maverick Television’s 10 Years Younger and Optomen’s Brendan’s Love Boat.
She also runs entertainment platform The Black Magic Network and its accompanying podcast and awards.
Meanwhile, Tilting the Lens will host eight workshops on disability inclusion, focusing on recruitment, workplace culture, content, marketing and physical and digital spaces.
All3Media chief operating officer Sara Geater described Tilting the Lens founder Sinéad Burke as “one of the most powerful speakers I have ever encountered”.
The moves follow a group-wide diversity and inclusion mapping project commissioned last year from consultancy Included.
