All3Media is backing a scripted indie launched by a producer of Peaky Blinders and Sky’s Cobra.
Joe Donaldson has set up Magic Hour Television, which has a first-look deal with All3Media label New Pictures and distribution arm All3Media International.
The super-indie is funding Magic Hour’s scripted slate, which Donaldson will develop with New Pictures co-founder and chief executive Willow Grylls.
“Willow and I share a passion for empowering and supporting creatives to produce ambitious, entertaining television,” Donaldson said.
Donaldson was a producer on the first two series of New Pictures’ political thriller Cobra, which airs on Sky Max, and is executive producing series three.
His other credits as producer include Peaky Blinders and Ripper Street. He previously worked in script editing, on dramas including BBC1’s Lark Rise to Candleford and What Remains.
