Hollywood actor Reese Witherspoon’s production company Hello Sunshine has set up a British unscripted arm, headed by former Channel 4 executive Sarah Lazenby.

The US company, best known for dramas such as HBO’s Big Little Lies and Apple TV+ series The Morning Show - both of which star Witherspoon – already operates an unscripted US division.

Headed by Sara Rea, this has produced shows such as Netflix’s Get Organised and Roku’s ‘reality romcom’ feature To Paris For Love.

Lazenby, who reports to Rea, said she was drawn to Hello Sunshine’s “unique global brand and inspirational mission to change the way women walk through the world through storytelling”.

Meanwhile, Rea hailed Lazenby's "talent, passion, and sensibility for great storytelling".

Lazenby left C4 in early 2021 after six years with the broadcaster, latterly as head of features and formats, overseeing Jamie Oliver’s show, plus Flirty Dancing, Crazy Delicious and The Great British Bake Off.

Last year, she produced HBO’s Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.

Hello Sunshine Unscripted UK is developing its first project with C4.
