All3Media is to move Maverick UK out of Birmingham as it merges the label with OMG Scotland labels to create a bigger Glasgow-based factual and fact ent indie.
Staff from both labels will transfer to 141 Productions, which will be run by Maverick UK creative director Hannah Brownhill and OMG head of Scotland Toby Stevens.
It will have a second base within OMG’s existing London office, which Maverick’s US operation will continue to operate out of Los Angeles.
OMG chief executive Layla Smith said the move will “supercharge” OMG’s existing business in the UK nations by expanding its Scottish footprint.
OMG Scotland’s portfolio includes ITV drama The Larkins and Channel 4 quiz show The Answer Trap and its past commissions include C4-backed comedies Year of the Rabbit and Feel Good.
Under Brownhill, Maverick is rebooting Embarrassing Bodies for E4 and is behind Channel 5’s Ten Years Younger in Ten Days.
The label, currently based in London and Birmingham, is also making a C4 feature doc that uses AI voice-replicating technology. This will now come under the 141 banner.
