Is anyone currently still shooting?

Just trying to get an idea of what level of production is going on, whether crews are still in the field, and how productions are planning at the moment.

I know of one production who are shooting talking head interviews. I'm not naming names but can't say I really agree considering there should only be "essential travel" but I suppose it's keeping them in work and giving a channel some content.

Happy to make a programme about looking after my 3-year-old son at home..! Not sure anyone outside family would want to watch it, though. Maybe not even them.

At the end of every year its so hard getting work in TV production until around March the next year. But I've got so used to it I thought it was normal until I heard how horrified people from other industries are that they might not have work for the next weeks/months because of this virus.
I think our industry needs to start protecting its freelance workers.

Not sure how "the industry" can protect us. Prod-cos are on very limited money and margins as it is (apart from some super-indies running formats). Broadcasters are shedding advertisers right left and centre. This is where the government needs to step in to protect freelancers and also those working through private services companies. It's not yet clear to me whether payment protection insurance covers this kind of hiatus. All I know is that it's limited to a few months payout, but it's better than nothing...

Yes, but with strictly enforced shooting protocols and greatly expanded risk assessments as you can imagine. for how much longer I do not know.

Still working for Channel 4 News on Covid-19 stories. Minimal outside shooting, as essential workers, with strictly enforced protocols. Most interviews over Skype.

I had a shoot scheduled and the production was ready to go ahead but I canceled as I did not see it as essential. To their credit the production company fully understood my stance.

Have shot NHS repurposing / staff training videos for NHS Nightingale and the other super hospitals that have been set up . Came through a broadcast contact who was approached by senior NHS staff. Had some news enquiries and web streaming requests but thats all.
