In August 2021, I along with Divy Bhagia headed out to Uley to shoot for a 360 Stereoscopic documentary meant to be experienced on a VR headset. In this remote Trans himalayan village near Ladakh, at an elevation of 14,000ft, a community of six families coexists with an elusive animal as grey as the mountains - the Snow Leopard.

Under the Himalayan Shadow depicts their life through the eyes of Morup Namgail, a 26-year-old filmmaker from the village who is also an expert snow leopard tracker. The 16-minute-long documentary, shot in 360 Stereoscopic VR, explores various nuances of the people sharing their home with the snow leopards at a 14,000ft elevation. The film portrays the journey of filming a snow leopard on camera traps, following its synergy and impact on our cultures.
Nurturing undiscovered lessons, the Himalayas wait patiently to be fully explored. This project aims to transport people to the Himalayas. It helps them observe, explore, and understand the magnificence of the terrain. It is commentary on the coexistence of man and nature also highlights the issues that threaten this region.
