The Hotel Inspector and I Kissed a Boy indie Twofour is cutting jobs at its Plymouth office.

Owner ITV Studios confirmed that it had “entered into formal consultation with colleagues” over a number of redundancies, which it said are “in response to the changing market”.

The move “strategically refocuses Twofour on global opportunities which require a different business model,” it said.

ITVS said however Twofour would continue to make shows out of Plymouth, which remains a “core part of its business strategy”.

The Plymouth office has typically produced lifestyle and features shows, a genre currently under pressure as broadcasters pivot to lower-volume, larger-scale commissions.

As well as The Hotel Inspector, Twofour Plymouth also makes shows such as Channel 5's Somerset: Wonders of the West Country and Dorset: Country and Coast.

The indie, which also operates out of London, is currently producing both the UK and US version of travel competition show Destination X.

Two recent hires also signal a desire to scale up its ambitions: head of production Karen Hudson’s credits include 007: Road to a Million and The Grand Tour, while reality and entertainment executive producer Dan Gray has previously worked on The Circle and Celebs Go Dating.
