Two producers of Jane McDonald and Susan Calman’s Channel 5 series have joined forces to launch an indie specialising in travel shows.
Manchester-based JetsetTV has been set up by Kieran Collins and Mark Powell to producer advertiser-funded series, with its first commission ‘in the bag’ but yet to be revealed.
While the pair have each worked in TV for three decades across the factual, entertainment, documentary, archive and lifestyle genres, they have largely specialised in travel programming since 2016.
Collins, a former managing editor, entertainment north for BBC Studios who has also held senior roles at True North and RDF North, executive produced the first four series of C5’s Cruising with Susan Calman.
He also exec-ed the broadcaster’s first advertiser-funded series, Britain’s Places to Live, in partnership with The Sunday Times and Halifax.
Powell, meanwhile, has executive produced a string of Jane McDonald-fronted series for the channel since 2020, including Cruising with Jane McDonald, Jane McDonald’s Yorkshire and Jane McDonald: Lost in Japan.
His other C5 credits include Portillo’s Hidden History of Britain and list shows such as Britain’s Favourite ’80s Songs.
