Channel 4’s To Catch a Copper [pictured] and The Push: Murder on the Cliff will vie with BBC2’s On Thin Ice: Putin v Greenpeace in this year’s RTS Programme Awards.
The series, made by Story Films, Candour Productions and Curve Media respectively, are in the running for best documentary series.
Nominated for best single documentary, meanwhile, are Marking Films Inc/Tigerlily Productions’ C4 doc Undercover: Exposing The Far Right , Mindhouse’ Sky Documentaries single Tell Them You Love Me and Expectation’s BBC2 doc Hell Jumper.
The BBC dominates this year’s shortlists with 45 nominations across 29 categories, with Studio Lambert’s The Traitors up for both entertainment programme and entertainment performance, and Playground Entertainment/Company Pictures’ Wolf Hall: the Mirror and the Light picking up nods in the drama series and writer – drama categories.
ITV’s Mr Bates v the Post Office scored two nominations: best supporting actress for Monica Dolan, and a place on the newly-combined limited series and single drama category.
The much-garlanded ITV Studios/Little Gem series is up against fellow ITV1 series Breathtaking (HTM Television) and BBC1’s This Town (Kudos/Nebulastar/Mercury Studios/Stigma Films).
The winners will be announced on Tuesday 25 March.
