London-based entertainment indie Youngest Media has secured its first domestic base outside the capital with the opening of a Leeds hub.
Chief creative officer Shaun Parry – who co-created BBC1’s Pointless with Youngest co-founder David Flynn - and director of production and operations Louisa Benger, a former Endemol Shine Group production executive, are to run the northern office.
As with the main site, it will focus on entertainment formats.
Flynn set up Youngest with Lucas Church in 1999. The indie is behind shows such as ITV’s Small Fortune, BBC1’s Hardball, BBC3’s House Share and both the E4 original and US remake of Game of Clones [main picture features E4 version].
It has recently been piloting a format for Channel 4 called Moneybags.
Youngest also operates out of Germany and in France, as a joint venture with former Shine France founder Thierry Lachkar’s indie Deeply Superficial.
Earlier this year, Youngest secured a first-look distribution deal from BBC Studios.
