In 2019, his award-winning Horror short: The Blue Door, was nominated for a BAFTA. In 2020, the feature length version of the film was optioned by Stephen Spielberg’s studio Amblin. He co-created, wrote and performed in two series of the accomplished BBC3 sitcom Badults. Pappy's, one of the best sketch acts in Britain, have twice been nominated for Best Show at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards and are two-time winners of the Best Sketch Act at the Chortle Awards. As well as Badults, they created a critically acclaimed Christmas short for Sky Arts titled Pappy’s Christmas, starring Dara O’Briain. Ben writes, performs and produces the highly popular podcast Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown, nominated at the 2022 British Podcast Awards. He also writes and co-hosts for Pappy’s second and third popular podcasts, Pappy’s Flatshare: Beef Brother’s Cold Cuts, featuring special guests and Pappy’s Flatshare: House Meeting. An avid song writer, he creates songs and jingles for all Pappy’s podcasts. An acknowledged writer and actor in his own right, Ben has written and performed in all three series of Emily Atack’s flagship show: The Emily Atack Show. His other writing and acting credits include Dave’s Hypothetical, C4's Host the Week and C4’s The Last Leg. Ben has directed four Edinburgh Award nominated shows including: Colin Hoult: The Death of Anna Mann, Spencer Jones: The Audition and Tom Parry: Yellow T-Shirt. He has directed several other successful Edinburgh Fringe shows and national tours for: Luke Kempner, of Steph’s Pack Lunch fame, hugely popular podcast live show: No Such Thing as a Fish, TikTok star Christian Brighty and Twitter notoriety Michael Spicer.
