The project has rolled into an online series, ‘DIRTY LAUNDRY,’ currently being shot by director Ian Denyer.My first go at writing resulted in an option from Tiger Aspect for a sitcom inspired by my husband’s complete lack of social awareness and its negative impact on my standing in the community. My second sitcom was developed for TV and by Impatient Productions for radio. The teaser for my third, IDIOTS, co-written with Georgia Mackenzie, has just been produced with Justin Edwards, Ruth Madeley, Ken Collard and Matt Steer. I’ve just finished the pilot for a brand new sitcom - THE GOD LIFE.In July 2020 I was selected from over 200 writers for one of six slots on ERA 50:50's ‘TellHerVision’ Project - an all female writers room supported by ScreenSkills using National Lottery funds awarded by the BFI as part of the Future Film
Skills programme, in partnership with the Comedy 50:50 initiative, supported by Times Up UK and led by professional comedy mentor Joanna Scanlan.I write regularly across a range of genres and platforms including gag writing, online content, treatments (everybody’s favourite), live work and TV ads. Basically, I’ll turn my hand to most things wordy.My sitcom THE GOD LIFE has just gone through to the second round of Launch Pad's Pilot competition.
Read LessWe recently needed some very specialised sketch material for a BBC documentary presented by a very hot talent. The brief was exacting as was the time-frame. The material needed to be ironic, funny - and to be in the style of one of the greatest playwrights of all time. There was already a buzz about the ability of sit-com writer Charlotte Sones and her writing partner Georgia Mackenzie - tight, acidic dialogue freighted with irony and above all, deeply, deeply dark. It was immediately obvious they were the right fit. Within a week we took deliverery of ten interpretaions - no egocentric over-pushing of the brief, all exactly the right duration, all of them painfully funny. Then they came to set and performed the chosen piece. Polished, professional, profound.
