I am now close to completing six years as an entrepreneur in a production agency I co-founded. As a core function of this agency, we have created promos for the entire portfolio of channels for Discovery Communications as well as other short format digital and corporate videos for local and multinational corporations based in India. Acquiring new business, conceptualizing & scripting, budgeting, producing, hiring a crew, directing as well as editing and post producing all projects under the banner of Blurb Productions has been under my purview. Blurb has made Television Commercials, Digital Commercials, Brand & Show promos, Food videos, Music and Fashion videos which are both Shoot and graphics based. Before running my own organisation, I’ve worked in Discovery Communications India for 3 years as a Producer in the On Air Promotions department. Here I was channel manager for the lifestyle channels (TLC & Discovery Turbo). At Discovery, I won 3 Promax awards for the promos I produced. I’ve also had various odd jobs in BBC News, the British film industry, Indian film industry, advertising etc. With the above mentioned work experience as well as a degree in film from University of London, I have always had a keen insight in precise story telling. Creating short format visual communication has been a forte. And I’ve had the good fortune of understanding the following requirements as well: • Communication within the organisation as well as managing large teams upon outsourcing work. • Dealing with senior management. • Staying within budgets and deadlines. • Training executives in streamlining systems for maximum and best desired output. Despite having nearly 10 years of work experience, I’m keen on learning new and innovative ways of communication and media.
