Now working as Assistant Post Production Editor in the TV and Media Operations department of the BBC, I make compliance edits to programmes scheduled for repeat, assist with new programmes made using archive footage and also with delivery of acquisitions.

Prior to this I was costing and processing payments for the repeat schedules on BBC1 & 2.

Previously, as a Production Coordinator in the Science Factual department of BBC Studios, I sent crews out on international and UK-based shoots adhering to rapidly changing Covid regulations. Credits include Science's Greatest Mysteries, Universe with Brian Cox, Horizon, Sky at Night, as well as Radio 4 series Just One Thing with Michael Mosley.

I was managing budget, delegating to a PMA, compiling itineraries, producing callsheets and production packs, booking crews and kit, sourcing props, arranging visas, carnets and all travel/accommodation. I saw Science's Greatest Mysteries through the edit too and liased with GFX teams, the post-house and delivery coordinators. I've submitted post-production paperwork on a variety of titles, ensuring partners like Discovery and BBC Worldwide have all the required assets.

I took the leap into my dream career after having established myself as a communications professional, with transferable skills gained through social media content production roles. I had led social and community strategy for a Ubisoft mobile gaming studio in London, and before that had set a organic social framework for recipe kit company Gousto when they were still at start-up level. Having always thrived through organising and facilitating teams, I found an amazing Screenskills Production Coordinator course which provided the perfect path for finding my feet in television.

I has long desired to work in television, studying media studies at A level and undergraduate degree level. My higher education included two month long placement as a runner at Princess Productions. Working in social media, I’ve worked alongside video producers, photographers, game production teams and media partners (including Discovery and Warner Bros) to create strategic content plans, brief assets and communicate schedules with global stakeholders. Asset management, budget tracking and project administration are some other responsibilities I am practiced in over 10 years of professional positions. I also gained an Agile Scrum Master certification to further my ability to manage team deliverables.

My leap of faith has paid off and I've been extremely fortunate to find myself being able to edit TV programmes every day. Proof that it's worth putting yourself out of your comfort zone once in a while to reach your goals!
