An experienced science and natural history producer, I have over 10 years’ experience in specialist factual documentaries with an academic background in zoology and science communication, as well as experience across geology, engineering and history.
I enjoy all aspects of building a film – identifying locations, species and behaviours, working with VFX to produce storyboards for CGI and animation sequences, both stand alone and in-scene – and in particular I’m passionate about building a full and engaging story, while teasing out an emotive narrative.
I am experienced setting up and leading complex shoots in challenging parts of the world - from leading a team to South Georgia by sail, working with gimbal systems across desert and swamps in Botswana, to spearheading polar field and dive camps.
I’m confident in directing multi-camera teams to produce visually stunning and stand out sequences, using imaginative techniques and working with a variety of camera systems - as well as identifying emerging stories on the fly.
My key skills lie in meticulous organisation, planning, and attention to detail both during pre-production and on the ground, and a creative and collaborative approach to storytelling and filmmaking.
