Madeleine Hetherton-Miau is highly regarded and multi-awarded director and producer with a proven track record in creating programs that captivate, inspire and surprise global audiences. She has been one the key creative forces behind a wide range of factual programs and documentary films, which have broadcast across National Geographic, Netflix, ABC, BBC, Discovery, Hulu, Al Jazeera and more.Inspired by the adage ‘truth is stranger than fiction’ her documentary filmmaking has taken her around the world from diamond diving in Africa to wildlife trafficking in Burma and through the remote Australian outback. Her films have screened and won awards at numerous national and international festivals including HOTDOCS, IDFA, DOCNYC, Guangzhou, AIB's, Sydney Film Festival & more. In 2012 she co-founded the independent production company Media Stockade with Rebecca Barry. www.mediastockade.com.In 2004 Madeleine completed a Masters of Film at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) in Directing Documentary and was a recipient of the Film Australia AFTRS Documentary Award.
