I am Maxwell Shukla and I am a Assistant Producer with 6 years experience across a variety of roles within the TV industry.
I have a desire to work it multiple genres, facets and roles within the creative industries. I am looking to build experience within editorial, shooting and development roles. I would like to work in comedy & entertainment, sport and the obs doc genres; as I’ve enjoyed working in these in the past. Whilst I enjoy working in broadcast TV I have experience working within the digital field and would love to branch out where possible.
My next role will be as an Assistant Producer on Strictly Come Dancing's Christmas Special. I have previously worked on 3 series of this show and 4 series of the Strictly main show. I will be working closely with PDs and the ediotrial team, developing and building VT's for each of the couples. I will script, source locations, aquire props and shoot as 2nd or 3rd cam, as well as building biogs of the celebs and managing aspects of the professionals schedules.
I have experience shooting on range of Sony (FX3, FX6, FS7, FX9, A7SII) and Canon (XF605) models as well as experience shooting using minicams (Go Pros, Osmos) and gimbals (Ronin RS4, D4).
I have sound mixed using a MixPres3 II whilst on the go. In addition, I have experience setting up sound equipement such as booms, lapelles and mic packs.
I have experience Data Wrangling using Shotput Pro and True Check and Logging using Timecode+. I have also edited for personal projects using Premier Pro.
I have researched (and recced) locations, props, archive footage and pictures, street cast and conducted research chats/calls with contribs and talent. I have similarly built story documents, episode briefs and followed storylines within several roles, making logs and editorial notes within.
I have experience in unscripted shiny floor, panel, cooking, blue-light, documentary and challenge shows; experience in scripted comedy and short films and experience in pilot/test shows.
I am first aid trained and have my level 1 in BSL. I have degrees in Sport Science (BSc) and Sport Psychology (MSc) and a history of teaching/coaching children and adults. I have DBS dated 2025. I have a full clean drivers license and experience driving cars and vans as large as Lutons.
I have bases in London (live), Brighton and South France. I am willing to travel and commute and can WFH.
I enjoy working as part of a team and individually, I have strong leadership skills and a lighthearted nature.
