Working in both narrative and documentary across film and television, Tobi has produced work internationally for renowned broadcasters and media including BBC, BFI, Channel 4, Film 4, Netflix, NOWNESS and Sky Arts, including comedy-drama series How To Be A Person which won 'Best Short Form Programme' at the 2023 BAFTA Television Awards.
Her short films include Blue Corridor 15 which screened at Sundance Film Festival in 2021, In Praise of Still Boys which exhibited at 180 The Strand, and 1 UP which recently had its UK premiere at the 2023 BFI London Film Festival and is currently in its festival run. Her latest short film, Leaving Ikorodu In 1999, will be filmed in Nigeria in 2024 with funding from Film 4 and the BFI.
In 2022, Tobi was featured in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Europe list, as well as being selected for the 2022 BAFTA Elevate programme and BFI's NETWORK@LFF 2023 development programme. She also received the Netflix New Talent Award at the 2023 Women In Film & TV Awards, with previous recipients including Laurie Nunn (Sex Education, Netflix) and Nicole Lecky (Mood, BBC).
She has been a Jury Member for the BAFTA Television Awards, Leeds International Film Festival and One World Media Awards, a Mentor for London Screen Academy and Arts Emergency, and a Board Trustee of the National Youth Theatre and Peckham Platform.
In 2021, Tobi launched her production company, Them Ones, with short docu-film ÓWÀMBÈ with Netflix and WDM Entertainment, which won the Jury Award for Best Documentary Film at the 2023 This Is England Festival in Rouen, France.
Independently and through Them Ones, Tobi is currently developing and producing across a slate of short films, long-form TV projects, and feature films shooting locally and internationally.
Tobi is currently an Associate Producer on a feature film with Element Pictures and BBC Film.
