I am a freelance script consultant/script editor specialising in first features and short films.I have over ten years of experience as a short film programmer, supporting new and emerging talent in the UK and abroad. Until 2021 I was the Short Film Programmer of the Encounters Festival in Bristol, in charge of curating the festival’s UK and international competition.More recently, I have decided to use this experience to fully embark on my work as a script consultant and project assessor, working with organisations to assess filmmakers’ applications as well as offering 1:1 mentoring sessions with writers developing their scripts.My recent collaborations include BFI Network, European development programme LIM (Less is More), Film Cymru, and Cannes Court Métrages 2022 and Serial Eyes. I am developing the first feature of Colombian filmmaker Carolina Petro, recipient of BFI Early Development Fund. I have been developing my first script with help from Gaia. Her caring process and knowledge of story development have helped me understand what I am trying to say and how to achieve it. Her clarity and vision helped me discover aspects of my story I hadn’t seen before. She has been friendly, supportive and encouraging. My project was shortlisted for the Sundance Development track, which wouldn’t have happened without her help and advice.
