Read MoreI'm a British Pakistani Actor and Writer from Bradford. As an Actor I have played one of the lead characters in a BBC3 Comedy Series 'Coconut' (currently available on BBC3's YouTube) as well as appearing in other such shows as Casualty. I started writing to better promote diversity and increase opportunities for people like myself. Wanting to create stories that present better and broader representations of the South Asian community, with authentic, human experiences. I took to Screenwriting after developing a pilot script based on an idea for a novel, which attracted the attention of BAFTA winning Director Declan Lowney (Ted Lasso) unfortunately it never came to fruition. I did however learn a great deal about screenwriting and comedy from working with Declan for over a year and a half. I continue to write and develop projects of my own, trying to create comedy that can cause significant social change. I’ve completed mentorship schemes with Charlie Hyland (Digital Commissioning Editor for Comedy at Channel 4) and Nana Hughes (Head of Comedy for ITV).
