Production Title: BBC Pop Takeover Company: BBC Line Manager: Susannah Stevens Season: 1 Genre: Education Factual Youth Archive Shows Sector: Web Creation Description : Since joining the BBC in 2019 I have developed many digital and audio programmes for BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, BBC Three, BBC News, BBC Archive, BBC Sounds, among others, with particular focus on LGBTQ+, and multicultural voices. My series, ‘BBC Pop Takeover’ was developed with the aim of putting marginalised voices at the helm of BBC curated playlists of films, tv, and audio programmes - a great example is the Pride month special hosted by BBC Three’s RuPaul’s Drag Race star Vinegar Strokes, who selected her favourite LGBTQ+ programmes, and also created a collection of Vinegar’s Afro Picks featuring the best Black British talent at the BBC. I not only developed and produced this web series, but I also led the ambitious digital promotion strategy which included internal and external social media, BBC News features, BBC Homepage coverage, and digital marketing coordination, which increased audience engagement by 230% throughout the series. |
