As a
talented Researcher and AP I have built a breadth of experience in working on location, self-shooting with an FS7 and FS5, generating ideas, finding stories, and using effective communication skills to engage with contributors and talent. With my background in development, I am skilled at idea generation and pitching.
I studied a degree in Journalism Communications and Politics, and I am very interested in programmes and formats exploring history, current affairs and domestic politics.
Working as a Story and Locations Researcher on Bargain Hunt from January to November 2024, I have honed my skills in problem-solving, communicating, researching, and working on location during busy filming days. I am familiar with working alongside on-screen talent and contributors to ensure smooth and efficient production. With guidance from experienced Directors, I have improved my Insert and comm scripting and I've been able to sit in on edits to observe the editing process.
In addition to my time on Bargain Hunt, I gained Assistant Producer credits on
Fake or Fortune: Music Memorabilia Series 12 (BBC One) and
Legends of Welsh Sport: Bob Morgan (BBC One Wales), a documentary in the BBC One Wales Legends of Welsh Sport strand. Where I uncovered, gained access to and partly scripted, a compelling story on a Diver who changed the landscape of Sport funding for British Athletes. I worked across all aspects of the production, and contributed to creating a great piece of engaging content.
I began my career in 2020 as a Runner and Development Researcher with Wildflame Productions, where I developed a strong foundation in research and idea generation.
I have experience as a
Casting Researcher. I excel at managing high-volume casting, having reviewed countless applications for Season 1 of
Amy Dowden’s Dare to Dance (BBC ONE Wales). I have a keen editorial eye for identifying compelling contributors who enhance a show’s authenticity. My ability to handle logistics and manage databases has been pivotal in coordinating efficient production processes.
I’m skilled in running Zoom auditions, ensuring contributors feel comfortable and drawing out their best content. My background in development has sharpened my understanding of what makes a good on-screen personality. In addition, I have strong social media skills, including editing and captioning, and I’m proficient in Premiere Pro and Da Vinci Resolve.
To gain directing experience, I have been working on my own short film,
Power Of The Current with a team I’ve founded called PO7C Films. Our first project is currently in post-production and scheduled for festival submissions in 2025.
