Hello! I am a media professional looking to work in the film, journalism and content creation industries.

Since 2024, I have hosted and produced episodes of The Az And When Movie Podcast, a self-founded passion project where I converse with my guests about movies we love. I created it as a platform to express our enthusiasm for film freely, and it has become a labour of love which spans three seasons and thirty episodes to date, accumulating a following on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Instagram. I have written movie reviews consistently on Letterboxd since 2019, making sure to do justice to each experience with at least a paragraph of thoughts, and have kept the habit of watching an average of one film a day.

My other work includes features and reviews for the Arts and Culture section of The Gryphon, Leeds University’s student newspaper; a year’s tenure as Social Media Secretary for the Leeds University Film Society; contributions to print magazines such as Exposure Singapore and PRIFFZINE; and the occasional Substack article in my spare time. In 2026, I graduated with a BA in Film Studies (First Class Honours) at the University of Leeds.

Besides my passion for cinema, I also love reading books, taking photographs and playing music. I've also directed, written, edited and produced various short films, video essays, and co-hosted a YouTube channel, links to all of which can be found on my portfolio at https://azraeltay.my.canva.site Read Less
