I'm a BAFTA and multi-award winning documentary director with dual UK / US nationality, directing high end series and feature-length documentaries for premium streamers, Sky, and prime time BBC, C4 and ITV.  I am known for THE MISSING CHILDREN (90’), the definitive, shocking story of the transatlantic mother and baby homes scandal, which won a  BAFTA, a Grierson and an RTS award in 2022. I also directed a 3x45 series version for the US market, streaming on Topic/Amazon/Apple TV.

I've most recently been Series Director on a true crime series for Sky Documentaries (currently under NDA). I also directed BBC One's landmark anniversary documentary UKRAINE'S WAR DIARIES (nominated for a Rose D'Or in 2023). I previously directed and filmed a high profile observational documentary with the actress Sheridan Smith, on a journey to understand the mental health issues that nearly cost her life (SHERIDAN SMITH: BECOMING MUM, ITV). 

My strengths are in diving deep into a subject and finding highly compelling, layered and creative ways to tell a story. I develop relationships of trust with contributors, and have worked extensively with people who’ve experienced trauma and mental health issues. I'm also a highly experienced self-shooter, trained in documentary directing at the NFTS, which adds a depth of knowledge to my work with crew and drama recon.

My work includes glossy retrospective, creative recon, and observational self-shot documentaries. Some of my films I've conceived, developed and pitched, creatively shaping a project from start to finish. I have excellent storytelling skills in the edit with complex narratives. And l love the creative process of working with a team whether it's small and pared back or series directing a bigger production and running multiple edits.
