Deep in Florida’s central swampland lies Brevard County Jail, home to 1800 male and female inmates. It also plays host to an intervention scheme aimed at teenagers who are all at the foothills of a criminal career. With a re-offending rate of just 13%, using a mix of tough love and counselling, the scheme shows youngsters on the cusp of adulthood where their lives could be heading: Jail. For the first time, it opens its doors to non American teenagers, and this three part series follows the young British teens who's parents signed them up to attend. Overseeing a team of PDs and APs, DOP and Drone operators on an intense 7 day shoot, to creating the ‘look’ of the series and style of shooting, Master Interview style, planning UK and US shoots, extensive recce of locations, co-ordinating with casting and SP in order to capture beautifully shot actuality and creative footage of the teens on location. |

Musical director and choirmaster Gareth Malone immerses himself inside a major hospital in order to create a modern Christmas concert using just staff and patients and inspired by what he witnesses. Self shot documentary, but also directed a team of 5 cameras, lighting and art department to capture the concert as an ‘as live’ event.

This series used that unique access and exploreda brutal crime, the police investigation, and the safety of the conviction of a man still claiming innocence 20 years later. An additional present day narrative followed a team of independent experts in policing, law and forensics that had re-opened the case files, looking for clues thathad evaded others 20 years earlier. An ambitious project, which used a mix of archive, graphics, actuality and first hand testimony. The films combined my self shot actuality on Sony FS7, with days shot by a full crew on F55, in an art directed hired location with full lighting, sound and drone team. |
