Read MoreI believe that my strong work experience in production companies such as Oxford scientific film and education, with a Msc in science communication and a degree in marine biology will make me an excellent candidate for this position. The key strengths that I possess for success in this position include:
• Knowledge across different communication platform. Through completing my Msc where we learnt about all the different varieties of communicating over different platforms, along with working at BBC focus magazine and various production houses in London I have learnt how to communicate to a wide audience across many platforms. This is also shown in my dissertation which focused on looking at different ways of conveying information on the British coastline.
• Knowledge in all aspects of a production companies. As well completing work experience in a variety of production companies, as part of my course we had to develop, write, produce and edit a short film. I got involved in all aspects of this so have a well-rounded view of how a production comes together. Consequently, our film was shown at Bristol festival of nature.
• planning and organising. I am very organised and motivated when coming to planning, in my last year at University I organised a charity photo shoot and competition with Jack Wills which involved 12 societies from the university.
• working in a fast pace, ever changing environment. at university, I was part of OTC as well as the marine biological society and organised expeditions every year, including a trek across Norway this recent summer. I am good at multi-tasking and working at many different projects at once.
With Marine Biology as my undergraduate degree I have never failed to be amazed, surprised and in ore with the oceans, carrying out a Msc in science communication this transferred across to all of the sciences. What has always amazed me is how little people can access the wonders of our world and the taboo many audiences associate with science, I feel productions are a great way of connecting a large audience back with science and the outside world. I honestly feel that a lot of people become a lot more interested when they see what is out there.
Please see my attached CV for additional information on my experience.I have natural drive and enthusiasm and will work tirelessly to achieve the best out of a job, this along with my knowledge in Marine biology and science communication allows me to become a candidate who can offer that little bit extra to what you want.
