I am a Producer/Director with 10 years experience in documentary filmmaking, largely within the BBC’s Natural History Unit. I have worked across a range of output including blue-clip landmark productions, expeditions, observational documentaries and live OBs. I have successfully produced and directed complex sequences in challenging, remote foreign locations. I am a confident self-shooter, most recently shooting second camera on the new Expedition series with Steve Backshall. I have experience in all aspects of production from idea conception (Beavers Behaving Badly and Mountain Lions: Big Cats in High Places) to pitching to commissioners and co-producers through production and on to preparation of publicity material (print and digital) for transmission. I have a solid academic background in biological sciences and oceanography. Having spent six years, prior to joining the BBC, managing high-profile environmental projects, i have an in-depth understanding of a wide range of natural history and scientific subjects.
