Research has been the backbone of my experiences to date. From overseeing the runners department at Working Title Films, to assisting Nira Park and Ben Wheatley on two of their feature films, I have worked as a researcher and teaser editor for TV commissions and pitches as well as for the award winning documentary Director Beeban Kidron.Most recently I have been working for the Ellen Macarthur foundation making educational documentaries on the Circular Economy, researching content and facts, filming interviews and editing to archive material.My degree in Graphic Design, where I received two awards for my design work, has been instrumental in understanding audiences and creative problem solving, as well as arming me with the technical skills to present scripts both visual and written treatments and proposals. This has been invaluable for my experience in researching and pitching ideas and concepts for films and mini docs to archive material for the Ellen MacArthur foundation. I have a high technical knowledge of Adobe packages, audio recording and filming.Last year, I worked with groups of teenagers making films and telling their stories as part of a BFi initiative to engage disadvantaged youth groups in film. This involved mentoring and teaching kids and adults storytelling techniques and understanding what they wanted to say and how to say it.I am also a contributing editor to the Radio Podcast Farmerama, which tells the stories of small scale farmers in contemporary agriculture, particularly young farmers. My role there involves researching and pitching ideas and topics to cover for the podcast and editing suitable content.All of these experiences have required a great deal or self discipline, creativity, organisational skills and working both in a team and independently. Looking forward my interest and focus is on factual based editorial journalism, politically engaged and environmental documentary film. I enjoy being outdoors and am very practical. I enjoy watching political, historical and nature based documentaries with the focus being on education and a good story!I can offer solid skills as a researcher, self shooter and editor and am able to travel for work.
