Dead Hot: Intimacy coordinator Haley Muraleedharan worked on Amazon Prime drama
The National Film and Television School is introducing an intimacy coordinator certificate for the first time.
The six-month part-time course, in which 10 students will receive a total of 150 hours of training at the school’s Leeds campus, aims to “set a new standard in the field”, according to the NFTS.
Hailing the growth of intimacy coordinators as a “pivotal shift towards a more conscientious and inclusive film-making environment,” the NFTS developed the course with coordinators from the UK, Spain and the US, and Bectu’s intimacy coordinator training branch.
The course is led by Haley Muraleedharan, who has worked on soaps Hollyoaks and EastEnders, BBC youth drama Silverpoint, Lenny Henry’s ITV drama Three Little Birds, Amazon Prime's Dead Hot and BBC1’s upcoming drama The Jetty.
Muraleedharan, who is part of the Bectu branch, said: To have a network of best practice for students to draw upon throughout their certification journey is an incredible career boosting opportunity, in a department where it has historically been difficult to navigate a viable route in.”
