Parasol Media, the Welsh co-producer of BBC2’s Only Connect, has folded after 10 years.
Head of production Chris Cadenne and series producer Jenny Heap are stepping down from the quiz show, with co-producer Banijay indie RDF West taking over the entire production.
Both have been involved with Only Connect since it began in 2008, with Cadenne co-founding Parasol in 2012 to continue production when Zodiak Media shut down original producer Presentable, ahead of the format's switch from BBC4 to BBC2
Cadenne founded Parasol with Sian G Lloyd, Carolyn Hitt and Claire Griffiths. The indie also made BBC Wales/BBC2’s 2019 series Rhod Gilbert’s Work Experience plus a string of shows for BBC Radio Wales including The Review Show and The Secret Life of Welsh Food.
Lloyd remains as series director of Only Connect and will work alongside new head of production Angela Oakhill and series producer Nick Martin.
The BBC has given a double recommission for the show, which takes it up to next year’s series 19.
