The Film and TV Charity has launched a toolkit of free guides to help production companies support the wellbeing of staff through all stages of production.
The Whole Picture Toolkit comprises 13 guides, split across the pre-production, production and post-production phases of a project, offering guidance, advice, resources and best practice examples.
The guides span the initial creation of wellbeing plans and mental health assessments to debriefing senior leaders and planning ongoing wellbeing support.
The aim is for 100 productions to use the resources by the end of 2022. Companies already on board include Leopard Pictures, Mini Productions, Offspring Films and STV.
The toolkit builds on the charity’s Let’s Reset campaign, launched in October, and its 2021 Looking Glass Survey, in which only 10% of respondents said TV and film is a mentally healthy place to work.
The charity's chief executive Alex Pumfrey said: “Those who adopt the toolkit as a whole or in part are immediately grasping the challenge of changing behaviours, adopting healthier working practices, and making a real, practical difference.”
