Back from Canada after 5 weeks of work on an upcoming wilderness survival show. To see the Northern Lights (so often) was a great experience, as well as the scenery and also the hundreds of free-roaming bison (!).
But as a tech-based member of crew I learned a great deal about how to pack for jobs like these, such as using carry on luggage in a smart way. Like have rolling luggage for the heavier laptops and kit, then an expandable backpack with straps so it can attach to the rolling luggage. That way nothing pulls on your back, shoulders, or digs into your hands when you're walking a million miles through Heathrow or other airports.
