Swedish channel TV4 denied a report that an AI agent deleted Season Two of reality show 'The Challenge,' stating that it was erased due to human error.

Not every night..but taking a copy of the project files once a week isn’t a bad idea.
Didn’t ‘Toy Story 2’ get deleted..and it’s only by luck that someone had a copy at home?
But just as when edits switched from local storage(drives piled up in the sit suite) to network storage systems.. The move to AI assisted organisation of files does require some serious guardrails to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
An expensive lesson if it was AI.. a warning if it wasn’t.
Either way..I don’t envy trying to recut an entire series again.
I presume there will be play outs to use as guides from signed off shows.
But still a huge job. I wonder if AI could help connect the clips needed from looking at the old payouts. And put together a timeline?
If I was in that situation.. I’d reach out to a developer.. they could probably vibe code it in a weekend.
